His Royal Highness DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah did sound the alarm after all!

Folks!

Alhamdulillah! Our prayers have been answered!

Associated Press just now reported that His Royal Highness DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah did sound the alarm on the current state of our Malaysian judiciary system just as everyone had expected! Take note that MalaysiaKini and HarakahDaily have not said anything about this just yet.

Let me quote a few lines from the report down below:
Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, addressing a conference of lawyers, said there have been recent "disturbing events relating to the judiciary" _ an apparent reference to a scandal involving a video tape that allegedly provides proof of judicial corruption.

"Sadly I must acknowledge there has been some disquiet about our judiciary," Azlan said. "I am driven nostalgically to look back to a time when our judiciary was the pride of our region, and our neighbors spoke admiringly of our legal system."

Azlan, the highly respected sultan of northern Perak state, stressed that "a judiciary loses its value and service to the community if there is no public confidence in its decision-making
."”

Associated Press, please do not be angry with me for quoting some lines off your great story. Your story is good for Malaysia and I just have to share it with the rest of my fellow countrymen.

The only question right now is whether or not His Royal Highness’s subtle comment about our judiciary system would be taken into account by the powers that be in the government. They would probably pretend once again that there is nothing wrong with the judiciary system just like what Nazri Abdul Aziz had been saying all this while. :-(

I guess it is now up to our Malaysian Bar Council to carry on the fight. They are in a very good position to do so since they are involved in the 14th Malaysian Law Conference at the moment. Please make the best of it, Malaysian Bar Council!

Before I go, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to His Royal Highness DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah for making the first big step. Thank you, Your Royal Highness!
